Usually done twice a year, a dental exam is the first step to screening and diagnosing any potential issues that may come up with your little one’s oral health. With the help of dental x-rays and visual checks, we are able to diagnose and create a proper treatment plan necessary to maintain optimal oral health.

Dental x-rays are recommended during dental exam appointments and is an effective tool used to accurately diagnose treatment plans. Our digital x-rays are known to be the safest way to quickly capture teeth and help detect any potential issues.

Allow us to help teach your child the importance of good oral hygiene habits. We recommend a professional dental cleaning every 6 months to maintain optimal oral health. All our dental cleanings include polishing, scaling (if necessary), flossing and reviewing good oral hygiene habits with patient and parent.

At Kids Dental Avenue, our main focus is prevention. Dental Sealants is a preventative treatment used to help protect your child’s teeth and prevent future decay. A sealant is a thin, tooth-colored protective coating that is applied on the chewing surfaces of molar teeth to help prevent decay on the deep grooves and fissures.

Fluoride is an essential mineral found in many toothpastes which is primarily used to remineralize the enamel of our teeth. Our in-office Fluoride treatments help do just that! During your child’s usual dental checkup appointment, we recommend applying Fluoride paste in order to strengthen your child’s teeth and help prevent future decay.

When cavities are diagnosed during routine dental exams, they require treatment to prevent spreading. If a cavity is found to be shallow, they can be treated using dental fillings. Our tooth-colored fillings are a safe and effective option to treat dental decay and aesthetically preserve your child’s overall dental health.

For primary teeth, dental crowns are used when cavities extend too deep and become too extensive that the tooth can no longer be restored using traditional fillings. They are intended to cover the entire tooth structure in an effort to protect the tooth and allow for normal function. At Kids Dental Avenue, we offer a wide variety of dental crowns depending on each situation, including tooth-colored crowns!

Pulp therapy is known by several other names, including: root canal, pulpotomy, pulpectomy, and nerve treatment. The primary goal of pulp therapy is to treat, restore, and save the affected tooth. A tooth may need pulp therapy if it has experienced extensive decay that has reached the nerve or has been injured by trauma.

Our non-invasive SDF treatment halts cavities in their tracks. Silver Diamine Flouride is an antibacterial liquid used to stop tooth decay from spreading. This treatment can be used for very young patients with early childhood caries and special needs patients.

In order to alleviate a child’s anxiety during dental procedures, we offer Nitrous Oxide, better known as “laughing gas”. Nitrous Oxide is a very safe and fully reversible gas with absolutely no lasting effects. We also offer IV sedation on a case-by-case basis, depending on a child’s needs. We work with a group of experienced anesthesiologists and are able to safely complete all necessary dental treatment in our state-of-the-art dental office.

Extractions are done on primary teeth when they can no longer be saved by fillings, crowns, or pulpotomies due to extensive caries or abscess. When primary teeth are extracted prematurely, there may be a need for a space maintainer to preserve the space until its corresponding permanent tooth erupts to take its place.

Icon Resin Infiltration is a solution for white spot lesions on the permanent anterior teeth. It is a minimally invasive treatment that allows the resin material to penetrate demineralized enamel and fade the appearance of white spot lesions. These white spots can be congenital or can occur developmentally or after an orthodontic treatment. Whatever the reason is, it is a concern for many of our patients and we are glad to provide a solution.
